Beauty in Brokenness

This is the most honest and the most beautiful way to acknowledge grief that I have ever heard. I met Kevin when he directed my first Summer Project (now called summer missions) with Cru in Orlando. He was then single and a solid man of God. I have not kept up with him over the years except through what I had seen on Facebook. But the story of his marriage and loss of 2 daughters is heart breaking. To share so publicly how to walk through deep grief and tragedy with you eyes on the Lord is a huge inspiration to me. Vapor and Mist

for those in deep grief… fresh grief… let this bring freedom to your hearts, a little laughter to your soul and give you a picture of the rare opportunity you have, this holiday season to truly know with great joy & thankfulness, in a way that only deep grief  & brokenness can bring, that this world is not our home.

“For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.  And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.”  Romans 8: 23

Our pastor sat across from us and had been thinking and praying about what to say to us, the day before Thanksgiving.   At the end of our time, he wanted to acknowledge the grief that comes with Thanksgiving for us…
