Halloween… More Pumpkins, less Candy

on November 2, 2014

Halloween is probably one of my favorite holidays!  I know some people might think that is weird, but its true.  It encompasses everything fall.  Leaves, cold, costumes, and candy.  Its wonderful!

I did not get to dress up for our Halloween party because yet again I was double booked (Apparently it would not have been a good idea to show up at a wedding rehearsal in costume before hand) but I did get to celebrate with a lot of pumpkin carving.

Pumpkin #1

These guys were huge!!!

Carving this was no solo act.  Jency had never carved a pumpkin before so we tag teamed it.  And we went for traditional instead of getting all fancy.

The guts are my favorite part… Just gotta dig your hands right in there.

No guts, no Glory

It was a fun night, complete with a pumpkin elephant and roasted pumpkin seeds.

Pumpkin #2- Our staff team took a very cold trip to Jonomac Orchard.  We picked up some massive pumpkins, some fudge, and apple cider donuts.  Then we enjoyed an afternoon of carving.  I have never seen our guys so focused in my life!

And my final solo project was…. and owl! (pinterest makes deciding on a design very difficult!)

Fall has been good to us here in DeKalb.  Lots of friends, fun, and festivities!
